Soon after I put my big girl pants on and made the decision to move forward with officially launching my site, I got a friendly email from the lovely Sarah Tucker, of Sarah Tucker Events, nonchalantly asking me if I would like to be involved in a style shoot for a new website called The Every Girl, launching nationally in a few weeks, featuring my mini desserts to hundreds of thousands of readers and followers and linking The Short Giraffe and MY face for all the world to see in a matter of weeks <insert panic and hyperventilation now>!!!!!!!!! I didn't even have a business card yet, much less a website to launch nationally! OhmygoshholycrapwhatamIgoingtodo? Of course, I promptly replied with a friendly and excited response that "I would just LOVE to participate, and couldn't wait to hear all the details!" I then walked into the bathroom and began to cry.
After my mid-afternoon meltdown session ended, I got myself together and went to the person I knew could help whip me into shape, my boyfriend. We made a plan and I furiously began organizing recipes, creating inspiration boards for myself, and checking the "launching soon" page of TheEveryGirl.com over and over again, in some vain hope that it would suddenly go live after each click of "refresh." Slowly it all came together. I chatted more with Sarah and she gave me some wonderful guidance and support. She reminded me that sometimes an opportunity like this is just the push that you need to get the ball rolling, and it was!
The day of our shoot, in a GORGEOUS backyard on the water in Bradenton, FL., I got to meet my now dear friend Naomi Chokr, of Naomi Chokr Photography. Sarah Tucker was a dream to work with, and I also had the pleasure of working with GORGEOUS models Ashton Weniger from Sunshine State of Mind and Designer Camilyn Beth of The Flat Faced Cat. Each of the ladies involved had a budding new business and the entire evening was a filled with ideas, inspiration and praise (and of course yummy treats!) It was truly a blessing to have been involved in such a positive and beautiful new experience for my business and to share it with these women.
On March 22 our feature on The Every Girl launched nationally and the response was A-MAZING! My iPhone was buzzing all day with notifications, texts and emails from Every Girl readers, the ladies who worked on the shoot, friends and family. It was awesome. THANK YOU to The Every Girl creators Danielle Moss and Alaina Kaczmarski for your generous invitation to be a part of your site and your wonderful support and encouragement! The Short Giraffe has already been offered to do more work with The Every Girl, and I cannot WAIT to see what unfolds next for me and my mini's!
Lots of sweet love!
