Soon after I put my big girl pants on and made the decision to move forward with officially launching my site, I got a friendly email from the lovely Sarah Tucker, of Sarah Tucker Events, nonchalantly asking me if I would like to be involved in a style shoot for a new website called The Every Girl,  launching nationally in a few weeks, featuring my mini desserts to hundreds of thousands of readers and followers and linking The Short Giraffe and MY face for all the world to see in a matter of weeks <insert panic and hyperventilation now>!!!!!!!!! I didn't even have a business card yet, much less a website to launch nationally! OhmygoshholycrapwhatamIgoingtodo? Of course, I promptly replied with a friendly and excited response that "I would just LOVE to participate, and couldn't wait to hear all the details!" I then walked into the bathroom and began to cry.

After my mid-afternoon meltdown session ended, I got myself together and went to the person I knew could help whip me into shape, my boyfriend. We made a plan and I furiously began organizing recipes, creating inspiration boards for myself, and checking the "launching soon" page of TheEveryGirl.com over and over again, in some vain hope that it would suddenly go live after each click of "refresh." Slowly it all came together. I chatted more with Sarah and she gave me some wonderful guidance and support. She reminded me that sometimes an opportunity like this is just the push that you need to get the ball rolling, and it was!
The day of our shoot, in a GORGEOUS backyard on the water in Bradenton, FL., I got to meet my now dear friend Naomi Chokr, of Naomi Chokr Photography. Sarah Tucker was a dream to work with, and I also had the pleasure of working with GORGEOUS models Ashton Weniger from Sunshine State of Mind  and Designer Camilyn Beth of The Flat Faced Cat. Each of the ladies involved had a budding new business and the entire evening was a filled with ideas, inspiration and praise (and of course yummy treats!) It was truly a blessing to have been involved in such a positive and beautiful new experience for my business and to share it with these women.
On March 22 our feature on The Every Girl launched nationally and the response was A-MAZING! My iPhone was buzzing all day with notifications, texts and emails from Every Girl readers, the ladies who worked on the shoot, friends and family. It was awesome. THANK YOU to The Every Girl creators Danielle Moss and Alaina Kaczmarski for your generous invitation to be a part of your site and your wonderful support and encouragement! The Short Giraffe has already been offered to do more work with The Every Girl, and I cannot WAIT to see what unfolds next for me and my mini's!

    Lots of sweet love!

My first official picture as a business owner! And in a giraffe scarf....such a dork :-P
It's here! The Short Giraffe Mini Confections and Catering has officially launched in sunny Sarasota, FL! Well, thats what all the fancy paperwork from the government says, anyway! So here I am, a new business owner, a new blogger, and I couldn't be more excited! It's been a fast, stressful, fun, surprising, inspiring and humbling journey thus far. I must admit, I've shed my tears, had my moments of questioning and self-doubt (usually in the middle of a 4am baking session), and learned some hard, but valuable lessons. Now, everything has FINALLY come together, and I am one happy girl on this lovely, lovely day (insert toothy grin).
I must take a moment in my first official post, to give a quick shout out to someone very special in my life, and in my heart. This guy has pushed me, helped me, held me, calmed me and encouraged me every day. He has been my biggest fan, my loudest cheerleader and my most HONEST taste-tester. My boyfriend, Pablo, has been my rock, and I could not be happier to give him this big 'ole wet blog "mwuah!" for being exactly who his, every day. I love you.
With all of that being said, a big thank you to all of my other lovelies who have helped make this site, and this business a reality! My dear friend of 20 years Janae' Britt, owner of Poppysmic, graphic designer extraordinaire and mommy (soon to-be again!!) to the most adorable ginger baby EVER, took my disheveled vision of a logo and made it into that adorable creation that you see today. She also managed to answer every silly little question I had at a moments notice, thank you Janae'! .Also, my fabulous new friend, Naomi, owner of Naomi Chokr Photography, has offered her weekends and countless hours of editing (I swear the woman doesn't sleep) to take the amazing photography you see on the site and the blog. She's also really, really nice, genuine and funny as hell. Lots of love, lady! Oh, and I can't forget that super great guy I mentioned earlier, you know, the one I gave the big wet kiss to? He's the one who has been sitting up with me every night letting me bug him while he created this website. He's the one who sends me sweet little words of encouragement along with my google analytics report in a morning text message. He is the mastermind behind The Short Giraffe site, and he's also amazingly talented at everything else he does everyday in his company, THiNKERNET, Inc. Thank you, my love!
Last but not least, thank YOU for taking the time to stop by! Please do take a peak around the site, also! I've got some pretty great stuff coming up, new photo's being posted, regular menu and flavor special updates and some sweet new events booked in the coming weeks (pun perfectly intended).! The Short Giraffe will be your perfect fit for all of your mini confection needs for every lovely occasion!

    Lots of sweet love!
